VASEP phản đối "trao quyền" thanh tra cá da trơn nhập khẩu cho USDA Ngày 25-2, trang thông tin chính thức của Hiệp hội Chế biến và Xuất khẩu Thủy sản Việt Nam (VASEP) phát đi thông điệp phản đối Dự luật đề xuất thanh tra cá da trơn nội địa và nhập khẩu của Bộ Nông nghiệp Mỹ (USDA).Dẫn nguồn tin từ SeafoodSource (Trang thông tin chuyên ngành về thủy sản quốc tế), VASEP cho biết, Hiệp hội này và Hiệp hội Thủy sản Hoa Kỳ (NFI) phản đối thông cáo báo chí về dự luật đề xuất thanh tra cá da trơn nội địa và nhập khẩu của Bộ Nông nghiệp Mỹ (USDA).Dự luật này bắt nguồn từ một quy định trong Dự luật Nông trại 2008 muốn “trao quyền” thanh tra cá da trơn cho USDA. Hiện nay, việc thanh tra cá da trơn thuộc nhiệm vụ của Cục Quản lý Thực phẩm và Dược phẩm Mỹ (FDA). Tuy nhiên, dự luật này đã được trì hoãn hơn hai năm.Theo Gavin Gibbons, Giám đốc truyền thông của NFI, dự luật hiện mới chỉ là dự thảo và đã được công bố trên Công báo Liên bang ngày 17-2-2011.
