Website to introduce the values of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark": A project with high practical applicability

With the desire to contribute to raising community awareness about geological heritage and Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG), a group of students from Chu Van An Specialized High School in Lang Son city, researched the project "Website to introduce the values of Lang Son UGG." With simple, easy-to-understand, and user-friendly operating principles, the project was highly appreciated and won second prize at the Provincial Student Startup Idea Competition in 2024; third prize at the Lang Son Province Youth Union Startup Competition in 2024.

During the summer vacation of the 2024-2025 school year, a group of students including Nguyen Huy Hoang from class 10A3, Hoang Anh Thu from class 10D3, Nguyen Minh Quang from class 11C, Tran Nguyen Minh Chau from class 11G1, Tran Khanh Ngan from class 12D2 of  Chu Van An Specialized High School researched and implemented the project: "Website to introduce the values of Lang Son UGG," a project in the field of education, tourism, services, and finance, supervised by Mr. Nguyen Minh Tu, Physics teacher at Chu Van An Specialized High School.

Nguyen Huy Hoang, class 10A3, the team leader, said: "When it comes to UGG, many students and people around me, still have a vague understanding, without the correct concepts or an idea of what UGG is like. Given this reality, we had the idea to create a set of integrated products on a website that helps users explore and discover the values of Lang Son UGG in a visual and interesting way through images, videos, and interactive tools."

The project was researched by the team based on promotional publications and materials from the Lang Son UGG Management Board. Through the research process and with the advice of the supervising teacher, they developed a set of products including a digital map of Lang Son UGG; short videos introducing tourist attractions; AR (augmented reality) experiences for tourist attractions; educational materials, including small games to enhance users' knowledge of tourist attractions; integrated online advertising for tourist attractions, restaurants, hotels, tours, and experiential tours with commission; providing quality photos introducing tourist attractions in the Lang Son UGG area. After prepation, the research team conducted a trial at Chu Van An Specialized High School and received feedback and made adjustments to the website: draconguyen00.wixsite.com/geolangson

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tu, the supervising teacher, said: "When implementing the project, we received support from the Lang Son UGG Management Division, which helped to produce a complete project with high practical applicability. In addition, the project creates an interactive digital space connecting schools, tourism businesses, and visitors; provides learning materials and reference resources for educational institutions, teachers, and students at tourist attractions in the Lang Son UGG area for introduction and integrated use in extracurricular activities and local education."

The "Website to introduce the values of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark" project has outstanding features, different from ordinary websites, such as the designed, built, and commercially integrated product set in one website helps users explore and discover the values of Lang Son UGG in a visual and interesting way through images, videos, and interactive tools; the website provides reliable and accurate information verified by the Lang Son UGG Management Division... Currently, some materials, videos, and learning materials have been released to the market by the research team, sold directly on the website for 499,000 VND per product.

Ms. Pham Thi Huong, Deputy Head of the Lang Son UGG Management Division from Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center of the province, said: "The project has demonstrated the spirit of digital transformation in preserving, restoring, and promoting the values of Lang Son UGG; promoting and spreading images, promoting investment, mobilizing sponsorship and support for the construction, operation, and promotion of the values of Lang Son UGG; providing users with a multi-dimensional, vivid, and engaging experience. Thereby, it contributes to educating love for the homeland, national pride and self-esteem. Moreover, it also promotes the application of information and communication technology by students in association with sustainable economic, social, tourism, and service development."
