Provincial Leaders inspect preparations for the 9th Vietnam–China Border Defense Friendship Exchange

On the morning of April 14, Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province, inspected the preparations for organizing the 9th Vietnam–China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, which will take place in Lang Son province (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China). Accompanying him were Ms. Doan Thi Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, along with leaders from several provincial departments, Cao Loc district, and Lang Son city.

As part of the program, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee conducted an on-site inspection of the preparations for various exchange activities at key locations, including: the Huu Nghi International Border Gate area; the Huu Nghi International Border Gate Border Guard Station (under the Lang Son Border Guard Command); preparations for welcoming the Minister of National Defense and high-level delegations from both Vietnam and China for their visit and participation in the inauguration ceremony of the multipurpose building at Dong Dang Primary School; and the Logistics Park of Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group in Lang Son.

At the inspection sites, the Provincial Party Secretary expressed his appreciation and recognition for the effort and dedication shown by all agencies, units, and functional forces in preparing for and ensuring the necessary conditions for the exchange program. At the same time, he visited and encouraged the functional forces tasked with ensuring security and safety during the exchange activities.

The Secretary emphasized that 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (from January 18, 1950 to January 18, 2025). Therefore, the 9th Vietnam–China Border Defense Friendship Exchange held in Lang Son holds great significance, promoting the friendship and cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, as well as between local Party committees, governments, and the people in the Vietnam–China border areas.

The Secretary requested that relevant agencies, units, and functional forces continue to coordinate closely to ensure the best possible preparation for the exchange program. He emphasized the importance of encouraging and supporting officers and soldiers by providing adequate facilities and spiritual well-being. He also urged all functional forces to uphold a high sense of responsibility, remain ready to promptly handle any situations, avoid passivity or surprises, and ensure absolute security and safety for the program.

According to the plan, the 9th Vietnam–China Border Defense Friendship Exchange will take place from April 16 to 17, 2025, in Lang Son province (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China).
