Opening Ceremony of the 8th Quang Lac Peach Blossom Fair 2025

On the morning of January 15th, 2025 (the 16th day of the twelfth lunar month of the Year of the Dragon), the People’s Committee of Quang Lac Commune, Lang Son City, held the opening ceremony of the 8th Quang Lac Peach Blossom Fair with the theme "Lang Son Peach Blossoms – Pink Color Welcomes Spring."

Some special activities at the 8th Quang Lac Peach Blossom Fair in 2025

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of a number of provincial departments and branches, Lang Son City People's Committee, along with a large number of officials, people, peach growers in Quang Lac commune and tourists from all over.

Currently, Quang Lac Commune has 78 households cultivating peach blossoms on over 100 hectares. The Quang Lac Peach Blossom Fair serves as an opportunity for local gardeners to showcase and promote their peach gardens alongside springtime sightseeing and experiential tours. This year’s fair features the participation of more than 70 households displaying over 1,000 beautiful peach trees, including varieties such as light pink peach, That Thon peach blossom, velvet peach blossom, snow peach blossom, and crimson peach blossom.

At the opening ceremony, artists from the Provincial Ethnic Art Troupe and amateur performers from local units, schools, and community art clubs delivered captivating and well-orchestrated cultural performances.

At the fair, delegates and visitors had the opportunity to explore and learn about the region’s specialty products, including various vegetables, honey, fruits, and items for the Lunar New Year. There were also calligraphy booths, OCOP product displays, and traditional local attire exhibits. Additionally, visitors could participate in making woodworm cakes, engage in folk games, take photos in peach blossom gardens, and enjoy electric car tours around the peach orchards.

The new point in the opening program of the Quang Lac Commune Peach Blossom Fair this year is that for the first time, the People's Committee of Quang Lac Commune organized 3 competitions including: a beautiful peach blossom garden competition between villages in the commune; a peach blossom painting competition and a banh chung wrapping competition.

The competition for the most beautiful peach blossom garden featured five stunning gardens from the local area, aimed at encouraging local gardeners to continue cultivating peach blossoms and promoting the local economy. The peach blossom painting competition attracted 20 students from schools in the city, with their submissions showcasing the unique beauty of peach blossoms in Lang Son, as well as expressing love for nature, homeland, and the country among the younger generation. The banh chung making competition saw the participation of 9 teams from 9 villages in Quang Lac. The cakes made during the competition were donated to families in need within the community, making it a meaningful activity to celebrate the upcoming Tet holiday.

During the opening ceremony, the organizers awarded 34 prizes, including 3 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes, and 21 consolation prizes. Among the winners: the first prize in the Peach Blossom Garden Competition went to Le Thi Ngo, a gardener from Quang Hong village; the first prize in the banh chung making competition was awarded to the Quang Trung III team; and the first prize in the Peach Blossom Painting Competition was given to Luong Hoang Hiep, a student from Hoang Van Thu Secondary School.

Right after the opening ceremony, delegates and people visited the peach blossom garden to admire the beautiful peach blossom trees grown and nurtured by the local people in the area.

According to the plan, the fair will take place from January 15 to January 28, 2025 (from the 16th to the 29th of the 12th month of the Year of the Dragon). This is one of the first activities in the series of events for the Lang Son Peach Blossom Festival in the 2025 Lunar New Year.
