Lang Son Provincial National Assembly Delegation meets with voters in Huu Lung district
On the morning of April 15, at the cultural house of Quyet Thang commune, Huu Lung district, the National Assembly (NA) Delegation of Lang Son province — including Mr. Trieu Quang Huy, Member of the Executive Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Member of the NA’s Committee for Economic and Financial Affairs, and Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial NA Delegation; and Chu Thi Hong Thai, Member of the NA’s Ethnic Council and Head of the Democracy and Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee — held a meeting with voters from Quyet Thang, Yen Binh, and Hoa Binh communes, ahead of the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders from the Department of Construction, the Department of Home Affairs, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Fatherland Front Committee of Huu Lung district, along with nearly 100 voters representing residents from the three communes.
During the meeting, the NA deputies informed the voters about the expected agenda and key topics of the upcoming 9th session of the 15th National Assembly, which is scheduled to open on May 5 and close on the morning of June 28. The session will be divided into two phases: the first phase from May 5 to May 28, and the second from June 11 to the morning of June 28.

This session will prioritize submitting to the National Assembly urgent issues related to the restructuring of the organizational apparatus and adjustments to laws and resolutions that directly affect the country’s socio-economic development. Specifically, the session will review and decide on amendments and supplements to certain articles of the 2013 Constitution; consider and pass 30 laws and 7 resolutions; comment on 6 bills; and deliberate on various economic, social, budgetary, supervisory, and other key national matters. This will be the session with the heaviest workload since the start of the 15th term.

At the meeting, 11 voters raised nearly 30 questions and recommendations covering various fields such as environmen, land management, irrigation, transportation, social welfare, and policy issues. Voters highlighted concerns over the underperformance of clean water supply systems; shortages of medicines and medical supplies at health facilities covered by health insurance; the need for investment in irrigation systems for agricultural production and wastewater drainage systems; requests for the construction of a centralized waste collection site; calls for revisions to the regulations on river protection corridors; proposals for building a bridge connecting Dong But hamlet (Yen Binh commune) to Hoa Binh commune; recommendations to lower the eligibility age for social assistance for the elderly; and the early issuance of guidelines on the decentralization of state management over environmental protection after the two-tier local government model has been implemented.
In response to the voters’ feedback, leaders from several provincial departments and representatives of the specialized divisions under the Huu Lung District People’s Committee provided clarifications and addressed the concerns that fall within their jurisdiction.

Speaking at the meeting, the Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial NA Delegation further clarified some of the issues raised by the voters and pledged to collect, summarize, and forward these concerns to the relevant authorities for timely review and resolution.

On this occasion, the NA delegation also presented gifts to 15 policy-beneficiary and low-income households from the three communes.
